Mary Monkman from Ayrshire

Officers are continuing to appeal for any information that can help in tracing missing Cumbrian woman Mary Monkman.
Mary, 49, is believed to have travelled to the Loch Doon area of Ayrshire on Friday, 16 June, 2023 from her home in Kendal, Cumbria. Her car, a red Nissan Juke, was found parked at the west side of the loch shortly after 7.30pm later that evening. If you were in the area please check dash cam footage. Also if you have any information please contact Scotland police on the number below
Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 2648 of 17 June 2023.

Ben Gibson from Little Clifton

Ben Gibson, from Little Clifton, was last seen in the Workington area at 6pm on March 30, 2023.

He is 5ft 9ins, of large build, with short, mouse brown coloured hair.

A spokesperson from Cumbria police said: “Although Ben may be anywhere in the county, we are asking for people on walks up the fells and around lakes in the county, to keep an eye out for Ben.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 101 and request to speak to Cumbria police.

The Definition of a missing person is:

Anyone whose whereabouts cannot be established and where the circumstances are out of character or the context suggests the person may be subject of crime or at risk of harm to themselves or another.

The Herbert Protocol

The Herbert Protocol is a national scheme which encourages carers and families to record vital information on form a which could be used in the event of a vulnerable person going missing. The protocol was introduced by West Yorkshire Police and named after George Herbert, a war veteran of the Normandy Landings, who lived with dementia.
